SEO Content Sites
Problem:
Ask Media Group is a digital marketing company composed of more than 10 SEO content verticals that collectively receive in excess of 10 million page views each day. As the lead designer, I worked with the project stakeholders and leveraged analytics as well as user research to identify issues with the existing layouts. There were too many article types that did not take advantage of monetization opportunities and user retention. With a lack of a universal template the migration to a new CMS platform for all the content verticals would be a challenge.
Solution:
Working with stakeholders across departments, I created a visual strategy that could work for all the varying article/page types, that contained a proper and flexible monetization strategy. I also worked with the same stakeholders to create a universal template that was flexible enough to handle many different verticals and would facilitate an easier transition to a new CMS.
The Process:
Track down every varying page type and locate any existing bugs
Identify any areas of overlap and other similar properties
Research competitors approach and identify best practices
Work with internal stakeholders to develop wireframes
Work with internal stakeholders to come up with a monetization logic, especially for the article pages
Deliver completed mocks with examples of the template in use across several verticals
Provide feedback and support to the developer team as these are built out
Implementation of Content Templates
